Is it possible to teach yourself to play guitar?
Certainly! I did, and so did my son and daughter. Just takes alot of practice, practice, practice. I started by looking up tabs on the internet for songs that I liked or wouold hear that sounded like an easy guitar part. Depends on the type of music you like. Don’t expect to shred like Satch in a month! And if you do, call me, I’ve got a job for you! Just keep at it. You could try some Eagles songs, or CCR. Alot of those songs have only three or four basic chords in them. Some like to start playing lead, others like to play rhythm. Just go with what works for you best. I stuck with acoustic, but can still play electric. My son is a shred master after only about a year or so playing. And my daughter can play anything. It’ll take a little bit to build up callouses on your finger tips. So don’t give up when they start to hurt. That’s just part of your dues!
