Is it possible to split into a ring domestic ring circuit?

…You can do this if you are aware of all of the issues and understand how a ring works. As mentioned, you will need to have enough cable to reach the new socket. You can then use new cable to the next additional socket. But you will need to join back up to the other ‘cut’ half of the cable. The join is best made inside a socket enclosure. I recommend putting two double or single sockets next to each other over the cut cable. A cable from socket one would go onto the other sockets that you want to install and then back to socket two next to socket one, and then connect back up with the cut cable in the socket. You can’t join cables in a junction box if it is subsequently hidden and unavailable for periodic inspection. There are also limits on the length of the circuit but you should be OK with a few meters. Finally, This is notifiable work as it is in a special location and you should really tell the relevant authority and get it certified. Always make sure the circuit is dead before
