Yes such functionnalities do exist. In Rhinoceros V4, choose Datakit Exchange, Catia V5, Show tree. Then, select a file to import. Open it. The Components list appears. Now you have the possibility to choose the elements you wish to import. The same functionnalities do exist for SolidWorks.
