Is it possible to rewrite a patent application after the initial filing?
Most European patent regulations allow an applicant to modify the patent documentation at any stage of the grant procedure without specifying the time period for it. However, the modifications may not imply any widening of the scope of the initial application. In order to be considered new, all information concerning the invention described in the application should be kept confidential up to the patent publication, which discloses details of the invention to the public.
