It depends on the type of verneer. If it has a true verneer, it’s possible to refinish provided that you don’t sand through the thin layer of wood. If it’s covered with a photo overlay, don’t touch it. Many of the tables today are little more than a paint or photo overlay on top of particle board or cheap wood.
