Is it possible to record or capture Netflix video streaming?
I don’t think you can capture Netflix videos, because it seems that Netflix is using video files protected with DRM, so if they are protected you cannot download them. Still, have you tried Download Helper? It’s used for downloading videos from streaming online video sites, but I don’t know if it’s working with netflix. Dunno exactly, didn’t try yet, but you made me curious and I’ll start to search for a Netflix video stream recorder, because it’s a very good movie portal which offers us tons of movies.
Thanks a lot Search Guru for that google search link, I will take a look at it and see if by any chance I can find any app that works to record Netflix video streaming. As for that Download Helper mentioned by MoccaMoca ,if you were referring to the Firefox add-on , I am positive it will not be able to capture Netflix Live Video Streams because that app only works for flash video streaming websites. I am pretty sure I didn’t see anywhere mentioned anything about Netflix movies being in flash video format. But if you do happen to stumble upon some other good Netflix Video Downloader, I’d love to give it a try too.
So, to capture Netflix live video streaming, we need a screen recorder, because indeed Netflix files are protected and are not downloadable. There are screencapturing software which capture about anything on your desktop so it should work to record Netflix movies too. Searched a lot and also tried some online ways, that downloader helper indeed doesn’t work, since it records flash videos, also tried super screen capture demo version, but after it recorded a part from a netflix movie and tried to play it, it was not the video, just black screen and only with sound. So, I uninstalled it. I will try replay, it’s looks like it can capture Netflix live video streams. I’ll let you know soon.
Ok, tried replay media catcher, didn’t work either. When trying to capture a Netflix movie, it kept stopping, very annoying because in the end I had a small awful video. So, maybe it will be a good way to capture Netflix live videos streams but if it works… Btw, I found another screen recorder, Tunebite, I’ll try it soon, but I’m not expecting to work either as long as none of the software I tried worked.
