Is it possible to put airbags in vintage mustangs?

I personally wouldn’t bother. The work you would need to do to the dash/steering column to accommodate modern air bags would be very labour intensive. Air bag systems also operate with several impact sensors in various spots of the car. You would need to have sensors wired. keep in mind overall safety, when car manufacturers design airbags they do it in such a way that works the best in that particular car, allowing for air bags to be sized appropriately for the given vehicle. With a vintage mustang finding the airbag to best fit the vehicle you would almost have to do some crash testing. I honestly believe it is possible to do, however the difficulty and cost (not to mention the negative impact on the interior look or fit/finish) would outweigh the benefits of doing so.
