the dsi can only play games made for ds products so yes you can play ds lite games on a dsi

I do believe it’s possible. If I remember correctly, you can play DS games in general on your DSi, but I think it doesn’t work with Gameboy Advance games as the DS lite does. I may be mistaken in this, so maybe you should just try it out.
