As always, if you have data *anywhere* on the drive that you want to keep, ****backup**** first before you modify the partition structure of the drive. I can’t stress this point enough. Combining 5 partitions back into 1 is definitely possible; I can’t remember if there was a requirement that the partitions sit side by side on the disk before you recombine them (it’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with so many of them). I wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case. The general, simplest way of doing this is to 1) delete the partitions you want to reclaim, then 2) create one large partition with the space you’ve just reclaimed. Be warned: “deleting partitions” **will delete** all of the data stored within them. Now the tools you’ll use to do this will vary, depending on operating system/time when you’re doing this.
