Is it possible to measure environmental sustainability of the MPC? How will environmental functions of the MPC compare to other “green” constructions?
The Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is developed and administered by the U.S. Green building Council (USGBC). LEED is an internationally accepted rating that measures the sustainable features of “green” buildings in five categories: construction, water conservation, energy efficiency, selection of building materials, and indoor environmental quality. Columbia College Chicago is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. The MPC is registered as an LEED project, seeking LEED NC 2.2 Silver certification.
