Is it possible to make an editor for XYZ diagrams?
First of all you could probably use one of the already existing editors. Especially the generic diagram editor TGD is quite versatile. If you have the sources and you wish to build a specific editor yourself or extend an existing editor, then it is not extremely difficult to do that, at least when the kind of diagram that you want to edit can be described as a graph. Or, if the document has some kind of tabular format, then you can make a variant of the generic table editor. If you want to develop your own editor, based on TCM, you are advised to read the developer’s guide [4].
