Yes, you can install Win XP over 98. The best part is, you can do it from within Windows. You can login your Win 98, put the XP CD in the drive, open the install files, and double click the setup.exe file. Your install will overwrite the existing Windows 98. You can do it if your 98 is working properly without virus, or any other issues. Otherwise, you can install from the bootup process and format and install.
