Popular excursions include visits to the hamlets of Tiglio and Renaio, Sommocolonia (where a major WWII battle occured, that saw the sacrifice ot Lt. Fox and his men from the all-blacks Buffalo division of the US Army) , the major cave Grotta del Vento, the mountain stone arch known as Monte Forato, and the highest peak of the Apuans, monte Pania.
