Is it possible to grow mold on ceramic tiles?

0

Yes. Mold can grow on virtually any surface that isn’t treated with a mold retardant, it just needs the proper conditions to grow, which are humidity, slight heat and little or no light, along with some type of food source. ADDITIONAL: If a ceramic tile was placed in a plastic sandwich bag, then mold could still grow. Plastic sandwich bags are not air tight when sealed, so something can still get in. Also, air has other things in it other than gas molecules, so it will carry sufficient moisture and food to allow mold to grow. If you were able to create an airtight seal on the bag and remove most or all of the air, then mold wouldn’t be able to grow.
