Is it possible to get prescription lenses for Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses ?
Yes its possible to do it. . . sometimes they wont tell you if its possible because they want to see the frame to see if its in good condition and also it depends on your prescription. . .if it progressive or a line-bifocal . . . in our optical we wont do it cause the way its shaped towards the nose cuts of the lower bifocal but if its single vision they can do it.
Yes an optician can fit lenses to any kind or make of frame. I have an Oakley frame with prescription lenses. We have a chain of optometrists here in SA called Specsavers who did it but a friend of mine had her Ray Ban Wayfarers fitted with lenses at a different optician. But it also depends on how thick your lenses are normally …. like if you wear Coke Bottle thick lenses, the Aviators frame might be too thin to take them. If it is possible in South africa it will be more than possible in the USA. Take your frame with and shop around for prices. I paid the equivalent of $ 70 here in SA.
