Is it possible to get hiv or a std from removing the condom after intercourse, a few minutes later?
The condom acts as a barrier to all known STD’s so if a condom is worn during intercourse you are very well protected. When the condom is removed from the penis any infectious fluids are removed with it. It is most unlikely that you could ever contract HIV through the skin by touching the virus (unless you have significant open wounds or lesions in your skin)or even through the mouth by transferring it somehow. HIV is almost always transferred by making its way into the anus, or up the urethra (in through the end of the penis) during unprotected sex. Cases contracted in any other way are very rare by comparison. However, nothing is impossible. Washing the genital area and your hands well after sex is also good practice. If you are worried you could always wear latex surgical glove when you remove the condom.
