It is possible to generate a sample file from a Schema or DTD, just open the Schema/DTD file and select ” Generate sample XML file” from the DTD/Schema menu. • When I open a file created according to an earlier Schema specification in XMLSpy® 2011 (i.e. 4/2000 or 10/2000) and it is updated to conform to the latest Schema recommendation there are inconsistencies. Why is this? There may be inconsistencies because some data types and constructs are new in the latest Schema recommendation and others no longer exist. XMLSpy® 2011 will always try to find the most appropriate fit but it is best to go through your document to check that the appropriate data types and constructs are indeed being used.
