Is it possible to employ more specialist PE teachers in primary schools?
There are no plans to bring in more specialist PE teachers into primary schools but schools can approach the coaching agency if they would like to employ specialist sporting skills. A lot of work is being done to train and upskill primary teachers. A lot of women do not like competitive sports. Is it possible to introduce the competitive nature of sports at an early age? This has been recognised as a problem and Bucks Sport have appointed a Competition Manager as there is a desire to see more competitions within and between schools. It is very difficult to obtain funding for talented individuals because we do not live in a deprived area and, therefore, do not necessarily qualify for additional funding. Is anything being done to look at this as it can be very expensive for families to fund a talented child?
