Is it possible to detect a fetal heartbeat at 5 weeks using a vaginal ultrasound?

Not so.I had a ultrasound done when I was 5 weeks at a hospital and they couldn’t pick up the heartbeat and they did a vaginal one and the regular one. I had a ultraound done so early because I was having pain and started bleeding. They did a ultrasound to make sure the baby was still there.

I had a scan done at 5 weeks and no heartbeat was detected. All they could see was a yolk sac. A week and half later I had another one done and there was a little grain of rice with a beating heart on the screen. Amazing!
