Is it possible to design actuators meeting specific force and stroke requirements?

0

Yes, but within certain bounds. The 50 lbf/.5″ stroke IH-5055 actuator is the heart of a family of actuators having similar capabilities. Within a design envelope, modification is a straight forward design/tooling change. The basic design can be modified to provide up to 350 lbf and 1.5″ stroke. As a general guideline, each 25 lbf increase in force adds .1″ to the IH-5055 outside diameter, and .1″ increase in stroke adds .1″ to the IH-5055 length. Contact SRC to get an up-to-date inventory of existing configurations. If requirements cannot be met by an IH-5055 type actuator, there often is a different configuration that will meet requirements. Because HOP actuators are essentially hydraulic devices, flexibility is excellent. SRC has extensive experience in designing custom devices to very specific performance and size requirements. Please contact SRC directly to discuss design possibilities.
