You can go to the control panel on your computer and click sounds, there you can change some settings. I don’t know what sound card you’re using, but sometimes the manufacturer has software available to change settings, check the site of your sound card manufacturer for more information. You can always install software for special effects, I think Audacity is a nice program (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). But you can’t use media player as far as I know. Also, the programs are for editing the sound AFTER you’ve recorded it. If you want to change the sound when you are recording, you should really check what kind of sound card you have and if this is possible or buy a microphone with the options you are looking for.
