Yes, when working with Ficoll density gradients or other sensitive applications (e.g. certain blood and urea centrifugations), slower acceleration and braking ramps can be set for the Centrifuge 5702 / 5702 R / 5702 RH. This allows the centrifuge to accelerate and decelerate smoothly and ensures optimum centrifugation results. Press the SHORT key for more than 5 s while the centrifuge lid is open. The writing on the display changes from “br on” (brake on) to “br OF” (brake off), or “soft” is displayed (5702 R, 5702 RH). The slower acceleration and braking ramps are now activated. If the SHORT key is pressed for less than 5 s while the centrifuge lid is open, the current state is displayed.
