Is it possible to change a cats sleep pattern?
That’s an interesting question. However, I don’t think there is a definite answer. It’s kinda like asking, “Is it possible for every child to be an honor student?” My answer to both questions is “yes” it is possible. We have in fact changed the sleep patterns of both our cats to some extent. They were both feral and had the normal nocturnal lifestyle when we received them. However, their running and playing at all hours of the night (and morning) was unacceptable. It should be noted that cats generally sleep a lot, which makes them prone to activity at any time of the day. They are usually well rested at any time and ready to terrorize furniture at a moments notice. House cats specifically get a lot of sleep, both out of need but also from boredom, especially if they are not aloud outside. We found that by feeding them in the morning and late afternoon, this broke their normal eating/hunting behaviors and they had the energy to play in the afternoon and early evening only. We sometimes
