Is it possible to bypass the block for overseas listeners on BBC Radio Five Live?

It’s possible, but tricky. One method would be to connect via an anonymising proxy server based in the UK, so that the BBC server sees the IP address of the proxy server, rather than your real IP address. There are many sites that list open proxy servers, and ones that will “geo-locate” any IP address so you could find out where the servers are based. All you have to do then is find a UK-based one that (a) actually works and (b) provides an anonymous connection, which would involve a lot of trial and error. Incidentally, I don’t know where you are, but I believe BBC Radio Five Live is effectively available throughout the whole of Europe (and possibly beyond) via satellite, which makes a mockery of the whole IP blocking thing.
