yes you can but if you just go ahead ,prime the floor and tile you are heading for disaster.The correct preparation and procedure are paramount I would do this in a standard installation whether it be floorboards or chipboard (1) screw the boards down as good as you can, try not to go through any pipes or cables, hit every joist you can to give it every possible chance (2)’bounce around’ over the whole floor and check for any flexing of the boards, if you’re heavy and you stand in the center of a joist you will always get a bit of movement but what you don’t want is a load of creaking and seeing the boards moving (3) assuming all is well next step is pick a matting! one called ditra matting is popular look it up here http://www.schluter.co.uk/produkt.aspx?d… it does the job but (a) it’s expensive,(b) you use quite a lot of adhesive because you have to fill up the dovetails and (c) it raise
