Is it possible to attend full-time and graduate in one year?
Local RN to BSN students typically have completed all or most lower level course requirements.Because of varied course availability at community colleges, students at distant sites typically have not completed lower level requirements upon entering the BSN program. Most RN to BSN students have considerable work and family responsibilities. To complete nursing courses in two calendar years, students need to take 4-9 credit hours per term. Most TELETECHNET students are also adding community college courses to this academic load. Therefore, part-time attendance at Old Dominion keeps most students sufficiently busy. In some cases, RN to BSN students have been given permission to plan a one-year completion, attending Old Dominion full-time. Students should have completed all or most of their lower level courses. Students interested in this option should contact Ms. Phyllis Barham, Chief Academic Advisor, at pbarham@odu.edu.
