Is it possible that someone can have candida even if they don have vaginal yeast infections?

Yes, this is quite possible. In fact, most candida sufferers never have vaginal yeast infections, particularly men. Candida can occur in the vaginal area when the vaginal flora–meaning the balance of friendly bacteria and organisms that protect us living in the vaginal area- are disturbed. By disturbed I mean they either become weakened, imbalanced or wiped out altogether. That would allow yeast to grow in the vaginal area, just like it would in the intestines. But someone does not necessarily have to have vaginal infections of any kind to have candida. In fact, we’ve seen many patients with very bad intestinal candida who’ve never had a vaginal infection in their life.
