Is it possible that man can reach the center of the earth?
Several attempts to drill through the earth’s crust. The first unsurmountable problem everyone runs into is engineering a hardy enough drill bit. The temperatures are just enormous. During the Cold War it was surmised that access to the magma core would allow the ultimate weapon. One could send shock waves through the liquid core of the earth to disrupt the surface on the opposite direction of the blast detonation — in essence, an earthquake.
