I’m going to be honest with you and tell you that there was an african american lady with my agency who tried to adopt a child from China, and she was turned down by the chinese government because of her race. I don’t know if it would’ve been different had she been married, or if it was that she was black AND single. The agency went to bat for her, and tons of people sent in letters to the chinese government and eventually china relented and let her bring the little girl home, but it was really hard for her. Perhaps after that incident they stopped discriminating against african american parents, perhaps they let african american married couples adopt, but just be aware of this if you do decide to adopt, in case any issues should arise.
