Is it possible for a wireless home security system to cause interference with other remote controls?

Possibly your security system could mess with your cordless phones, or wireless internet/networking, but your TV/cable can’t be related. what you are describing sounds like what can happen when the battery is low on the remote, or the sensors are partially covered… check and make sure you have new good name-brand batteries (duracell, energizer), and maby use a little windex on a paper towel on the front of the remotes, they usually have a extremely-dark red surface, that the transmitter hides behind, and clean it well…
