Is it possible for a testicular vein to clot?
It’s not often that a testicular vein will clot. Usually what happens is something called testicular torsion. In testicular torsion the spermatic cord that provides the blood supply to a testicle is twisted, cutting off the blood supply, often causing orchalgia. Prolonged testicular torsion will result in the death of the testicle and surrounding tissues. If you have testicular torsion, you’ll know it. It will feel as if someone kicked you as hard as they could in that area. Get to the ER immediately, they will take you within minutes.
