Is it painful having a contraceptive coil fitted?

0

I found it painful/uncomfortable having a Mirena coil fitted, and that was after 2 children. It was a bit like early labour or very bad period pain. I am due to have it replaced this year, and although I’m not exactly looking forward to it I wouldn’t change to any other sort of contraception as it works so well for me. I was advised (straight after it was put in) to take some Ibruprofen pain killers as they are muscle relaxants so work better than paracetamol or others. I got husband to get them and went to bed (milked it a bit, lol!) and felt fine by the morning. I’d recommend taking some ibruprofen before you go to have it fitted. You should feel fine, certainly by the next morning.
