1) Is it outrageous, impertinent, audacious and offensive that religion claims the credit for human morality? Religion usually does NOT take the credit for human morality. Frequently, individuals do give credit to one religion or another. 2) Could it only be someone without any morality of their own (i.e. not god given/directed) or compassion who could fail to acknowledge and recognise the inherent morality of humanity? I think a review of history sort of invalidates the idea of any “inherent morality of humanity”. If such *were* inherent, then all humans would possess, innately, that same “inherent” morality. Clearly that is not the case.
It is outrageous, impertinent, audacious and offensive. The religions don’t have morals they have draconian out dated laws that have no relevance in today’s equality, human rights based societies. The Christians in particular are a pain the backside, at every turn there they are legislating against any science that disagrees with their oxymoron book. Despite that, since the church has had its teeth and claws removed, in the 150 years where they have not had so much influence, mankind has gone from wooden ships to men on the moon.
