Is it okay to use an extension cord with an air compressor?
Princess Auto does not recommend using an extension cord with an air compressor. All extension cords can create a power loss, which could lead to overheating and burnout of the electrical motor. Always use an air hose instead, to extend the reach of your air compressor. Air hose is generally less expensive than an extension cord and will not damage the compressor motor. If the use of an extension cord is unavoidable, make certain that the appropriate gauge of wire is used.
