Is it okay to take a zofran after taking adderall?
Might not be a good idea. Zofran is used for nausea and acts by blocking the 5-HT 3 (type of serotonin receptor) receptor. One of the many things serotonin can do is promote nausea. But, the drug Zofran is listed in the label information below as widening the QT interval of the heart rythym. The active ingredient in Adderall is amphetamine, a drug that on occassion has caused fatal heart arrythymias. So, even thought the FDA label information does not out and out mention a drug interaction, common sense and caution should prevail. This depends on the patient, and also on the dose and circumstances. For example, a cancer patient about to undergo intense chemotherapy and intense Zofran doses might have their adderall discontinued for a few days before and after treatment. http://www.fda.gov/cder/foi/label/2007/0…
