Is it okay to clip a birds wings?
It is your choice whether you clip his wings or not and they do grow back so you would have to get them re-clipped after a while if you wanted them to stay clipped. I suggest that you clip them and then tame him while they are clipped and teach him where the windows are, then let his wings grow back and keep them unclipped, it is the best option in my opinion because even if he has his wings clipped and he gets out the front door he can get hit by a car or eaten by a cat, where as if they werent clipped he would have the chance to fly off, that also means while they are clipped you should teach him to step up on command so if he does get away then you can call out ‘step up’ and he will fly to you.
