Is it OK to work major muscle groups two days in a row?
For best results, you should work the muscles you’re targeting no more than two to three nonconsecutive days a week. Your muscles need at least 24 hours of rest before you hit them again. This allows the micro-tears that occur when you’re lifting weights to repair themselves and strengthen. If you outpace your muscles by doing back-to-back workouts, they won’t have time to heal and grow-and that sets you up for overuse injuries, serious fatigue, and slower progress to that great body.
