Is it ok to wear short sleeve shirts as a summer law clerk?
It depends on the firm, but most firms will not let you wear short sleeves or casual clothes except on designated days (casual Fridays or the likes). When my husband was in school and worked as a clerk couple years ago, the males had to wear a shirt and a tie,and the females had to wear stockings and skirts below the knee or formal pants. Even if the firm is very casual, wear conservative clothes the first few weeks and see what the others are wearing.
