Is it ok to wean a baby at 4 months?

I had this same query and spoke to a baby nutritionist, she said that the guidelines where changed from 4 months to 6 months due to guidance from the world health organisation (or something like that) and therefore it is a guideline for the whole world which includes countries with much worse sanitation than perhaps we are used to. She said that when you take this into account its not such a worry to wean them at the younger age of 4 months as long as you take things a lot slower and introduce things at a slower pace than you might do at 6 months. She also said that here in the UK they have now changed things again slightly and are advising people to wean from 4-6 months rather than strictly saying 6 months. Taking this on board I started to introduce baby rice to my daughter from 4 1/2 months as she was starting to wake every 2 hours at night aswell as feed every 1 1/2 hours during the day (breastfed) and I decided she needed something more substantial. She was also showing other sign
