Is it ok to take birth control pills to shorten my periods?
Any reason you have chosen birth control is okay as long as it’s the right choice for you. Birth control can indeed help with all kinds of things. It can make a period more reliable, less stress and pain, shorter, and lighter. It can also take the stress out of worrying about pregnancy–which can increase your libido, and can also clear up acne and oily hair. Whatever reason you choose it for, make sure it’s right for you and if you have any complications with it (mood swings, weight gain, or if your periods are what you want them to be) call the doctor. There are hundreds of options out there for us, as women, and we should be properly educated and available to try all of them. Good luck!
