As long as you wear goggles, you should be fine. If you don’t wear goggles, do NOT wear your contacts. There are much more important reason why you shouldn’t wear your contacts while swimming or in the shower other than losing a contact or damaging it with chlorine. The reason why you should not wear your contacts while swimming (without goggles) is due to acanthamoeba infection. It is a very nasty eye infection, which can cause corneal scarring, vision loss, and even blindness. Actually extended wear contacts are more dangerous to wear while in the water because they will stay in your eyes more than 1 day and won’t ever be disinfected. Just get a pair of good goggles.
