Is it OK to send cough drops to school ?
Yes, but send a note with your child to bring to the Health Office. Your note confirms that you have sent the cough drops and that the child has not just brought them to school on his/her own. Non-medicated cough drops are permitted to be consumed in the classroom, depending on teacher/school preference. Medicated cough drops cannot leave the Health Office, and must be consumed there. We will presume that cough lozenges in child-proof packaging contain medication, unless we are able to read the ingredients on the packaging to determine otherwise.
