Is it ok to leave the the inner envelope of my wedding invitations blank?
What you’re meant to do is use the formal address on the outside envelope (Dr. and Mrs. John Doe and family) and then list the names of each invitee on the inner one (John, Mary, Ted, Jenny, and Lucy). If your handwriting is not very good, just take it slowly and do a few at a time. If your handwriting is awful, then either ask someone with better handwriting to do the job (and work out some form of payment whether it’s cash or a favor back or a small gift) or print them on your computer. There are plenty of nice fonts available now, some of which resemble very nice handwriting. Same goes for the outer envelopes. If it’s just not going to be very pretty, then it’s okay. If there are going to be serious legibility issues, then print them or get someone with better handwriting to do the job. The most important thing is that the invitations get where they’re going in good time.
