Hi….from sunny UK and rained on mouldy tents. If you use any kind of detergent except products specially made for treating waterproof fabrics like tents you will destroy the waterproofing. Products like Ariel, Persil, Daz, etc are no good for waterproof fabrics and will ruin any later attempts to re-proof the fabric. To kill the mould safely use Camden tablets which you can buy in chemist shops and in home winemaking shops, and some health food shops.
