Is it ok or beneficial to put coffee grounds in house plants?

It’s better to compost the grounds before adding them to houseplants. Vermicomposting (essentially a box with worms and bedding) will compost the grounds in a couple of months. You’ll avoid over acidification and the plants will have an easier time using the nutrients. Simply adding coffee to your plants will take a year to fully decompose and become accessible nutrients. If you’re adding grounds every time you have coffee, you can easily kill your plants.
