It doesn’t matter if they are showing. You have purchased “forced” bulbs and sometimes daffodils are not even put in soil, but special pots where they just get water…they bloom and then people throw them away. The only problem I can think of that you might have is if the plants are really thick and tall, they may have more of a tendency to fall over because the bulb is not well secured in the soil. If you have a garden and want to plant them outside when they are done blooming, you will want to plant them 6″ deep in the soil.
