As far as I know, CapitalOne is one of the most decent credit card companies, which normally does not make blunders and does not try to cheat its customers–or at least does it less frequently than the other credit card companies. While I do not know the details of your particular situation, I suspect that CapitalOne probably was legally right. That is, if you carefully look through all their fine print, you may well find some paragraph there explaining that they can charge a couple days early because of the weekend. Regardless of that fine print, if you call them and raise a major issue out of it, and then follow up with a dispute letter, they most likely will be willing to reimburse you all the fees, probably even including the bank fees.
