Is it obligatory on the part of the registrar to record in the Birth/ Death register regarding nationality?
The admissibility of evidence as to nationality of a person will be decided by a judge in the light of section 136 of the Evidence Act. The evidentiary value of the record depends upon the truth that it may, in the circumstances, reflect. Accordingly, the admissibility of evidence and evidentiary value of entries made would depend upon the facts of each particular case.
