It is not necessary to wear gloves for the application of hair styling products. The best practice advice is to wear appropriate gloves for prolonged periods of wet work and whilst preparing, using, rinsing or disposing of chemical products, such as perm lotions and colours. Your employer should undertake risk/COSHH assessments to determine use and training of such products.
