Talismans are tools that are powered by energy. They are not objects to be worshipped–those that do so or believe that all Users do so are not displaying any common-sense. Essentially, talismans are no different than appliances powered by batteries or electricity. The power within talismans are by the grace and blessing of God–and to the Divine One we seek protection. Some of us need a physical representation of that protection and blessing and talismans answer to that need. In this sense they are no different when the average person wears clothing for protection against dust or seeks shelter for protection against inclement weather. This does not indicate a non-belief in God, lack of faith, betrayal, or belief in something other than God to provide the protection–it is hardly shirik. Everything has been given to humanity as a blessing and we should use it rightly and responsibility.
